John Harden

John Harden is a freelance clarinetist from Atlanta, Georgia. Graduating from Columbus State University with his Bachelor’s degree in Music Performance, Harden is currently pursuing his Doctorate in Clarinet Performance from Arizona State University, where he also received his Masters Degree. Since his time during his undergraduate studies, Harden has been an advocate for new music and chamber music; A founding member of Arcane Reed Quintet. Harden has been invited to international chamber music competitions and international music seminars performing new music, such as Fischoff International Chamber Music Competition, Coltman Chamber Music Competition, The International Clarinet Association and International Double Reed Society all while leading commissioning projects. A passionate teacher, students in Hardens studio have placed in competitions such as AZMusicFest and as well as in All-State ensembles in their respective states. Harden strives to make his students the best artists they can be through passion, hard work and dedication.
