Samantha Blosser

Sami Blosser’s involvement in musical theater at age eight sparked her interest in performing, and by ten she had begun formal study on the saxophone. She was later admitted on scholarship to the saxophone studio at Western Michigan University, where she also expanded her studies to piano. After graduating with a degree in Jazz Studies in 2018, Sami relocated to metro Detroit and began vocal training to support her work as a lead vocalist in her own project. Her original composition Castles was featured at the 2022 International Alliance for Women in Music Conference, earning her notable recognition as a composer.

Sami has been teaching music since 2010. Her students have earned placement in district and state honors ensembles and have been accepted—often with scholarships—into competitive university music programs. She takes a holistic and student-centered approach to instruction, balancing fundamentals, creativity, and practical application to help students develop strong, intuitive musicianship.

Outside of teaching, Sami performs throughout metro Detroit with her projects Sami Calamity and Terraform, and tours across the Midwest with the Trilogy event band and the Great Lakes Brass ensemble.
