Piper Meldrum-Roy
Piper Meldrum-Roy has been teaching cello privately for 7 years. She originally started giving private lessons to younger students in her school district in 9th grade to gain teaching experience. Since then, she has continued to keep a studio of young musicians with diverse musical goals. While Piper's lessons focus on technique and musicality, they are flexible according to the student's musical goals, commitment, and schedule. She has taught students ages 4 to 19, incorporating repertoire from the Suzuki method, Middle Eastern music, standard concertos, and more.
Piper has experience playing and teaching violin, viola, double bass, and guitar through private lessons and group classes. During the Kalamazoo Kids in Tune summer program, she taught a music enrichment class and substituted for the orchestra director. She is in the final semester of her Music Education degree from Western Michigan University, completing her student-teaching at Skyline High School.
